Organizational Excellence-Triangle Associates, Education Team

last updated Jan 19, 2010

For over two decades, Triangle Associates has created and delivered high quality, innovative educational programs for schools on a variety of environmental topics such as household hazardous waste, waste reduction and recycling, resource conservation and stewardship.  Their educational services range from school wide assemblies and classroom presentations to teacher trainings, each cover a wide variety of environmental topics, but always come back to the same key point- we all make choices and those choices have an impact on the world around us.

Triangle views environmental education as an opportunity to connect students to real life issues that are relevant to their age level. They believe that environmental science should not only teach the “science” behind the issue but it should also link everyday choices to the impact and consequences people have on the environment. Hands‐on presentations teach students how they affect our world and empower them to make changes. Following a Triangle presentation, students walk out of the classroom with practical recommendations for achieving those conservation goals. Additionally, Triangle has leveraged assistance by connecting teachers with other local resources such as watershed planning and landfill tours. Our staff has provided teachers with project support that has enabled classrooms to encourage pesticide‐free school grounds, stencil storm drains, and educate the larger community on how their choice of home, garden, and automotive products impact both the local environment and personal health.
