The EEAW Educator Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to provide opportunities for school teachers and other educators to attend the NAAEE (North American Association of Environmental Educators) Conference. These scholarships target teachers of youth that are at-risk, disadvantaged, culturally diverse and/or come from low income areas, as well as teachers or other educators who qualify based on financial need. Preference will be given to applicants that cannot participate in the conference without financial assistance. All scholarships will be awarded based on individual circumstances. 

To qualify, applicants must be a full-time educator or teacher at a school, non-profit institution, or other environmental organization, or teacher candidate in an accredited pre-service program. Funds are limited.  All information is confidential, and recipients will be limited to one scholarship per year. 

DEADLINE for scholarship application is Friday, September 11, 2009. (Please note that the Early Bird registration deadline will be waived for scholarship recipients.)  Applicants will be notified of the decision of the selection committee by September 24, 2009.

The scholarship criteria will be based on the following:
• To provide entrance opportunities for teachers, including pre-service teachers and non-formal educators who do not have the means to attend the NAAEEconference; and
• To help fund one or more educators and/or teachers (with emphasis on those educators or teachers who are in greatest need, or who have not previously attended an environmental education conference) to participate in the NAAEE conference.
