The Mike Mercer Youth Scholarship Fund for Environmental Education provides, in part, scholarships to increase youth attendance at the National American Association Environmental Education conference held in Portland, Oregon this year.  This scholarship targets at-risk, disadvantaged and/or diverse youth, as well as students who qualify based on financial need. Preference will be given to applicants that cannot participate in the conference without financial assistance. All scholarships will be awarded based on individual circumstances (greatest need and/or those who have not had an opportunity to attend the conference before). 

To qualify, applicants must be 25 years old or younger. Funds are limited.  All information is confidential, and recipients will be limited to one scholarship per year.

DEADLINE for this scholarship is Friday, September 11th, 2009. 

The scholarship criteria will be based on the following:
• To provide entrance opportunities and/or transportation for youth who do not have the means to attend the annual NAAEE conference; and
• To help fund one or more students (with emphasis on those students who are in greatest need, or who have not previously attended an environmental education conference) to participate in the NAAEE conference.
